ONE PROTOTYPE · PRINTED WHITE LETTERS
Black flaps.
White PETG letters.
Start with the black fit sample now. After installing the AMS 2 Pro, print a small black-and-white lettering sample before the full set.
18 minutes 30 seconds · 4.64g of black PETG. The project opened and sliced successfully. No print job has been sent. Confirm the loaded spool really is PETG, the nozzle is 0.4mm, and the textured PEI plate is clear and clean before starting.
The AMS setup in your cart
$299.99 · automatic color changes
$30.99 · required for the standalone P2S
$12.99 · Inland plastic spool, 1kg
The AMS includes the new six-pin cable and PTFE tubing. One AMS 2 Pro can use P2S power for printing and drying; no additional power adapter was added. Install using Bambu’s P2S connection guide. Confirm the existing black spool and the white spool fit the AMS; plastic spool photos alone do not establish dimensions.

- 01Black mechanical fit sampleOpen fit sample ↓
18m 30s · 4.64g · no AMS needed. Check the axle, magnet and sensor fits against actual parts. The shaft/hinge fit is checked with the actual mechanism later.
- CHECKInspect the fit before the long print.
No cracked pockets or forced fits. Confirm the printed sample and delivered motor dimensions before committing to the mechanism.
- 02One black mechanismOpen mechanism ↓
2h 58m 41s · 50.86g. Print its drum, gear and supporting frame while arranging the AMS. Keep the provided support settings.
- 03Five black-and-white sample leavesOpen AMS sample ↓
27m 38s · 4.53g including purge and tower · 3 filament changes.
White glyphs on both faces, black surrounding body. Keep color changes and purging enabled. These five leaves count toward the first module if they pass.
- CHECKTest the printed letters and movement.
Check both faces for opaque white lettering, flatness, clean hinge tabs and no protruding material. Hand-turn the drum through the sample leaves. Test adhesion and free flipping before the remainder.
- 04The remaining 33 black-and-white leavesOpen remaining 33 ↓
1h 41m 28s · 17.45g including purge and tower · 2 filament changes.
Use only after the five samples pass. Five + 33 gives exactly one complete 38-leaf character.
- 05Secure the module uprightOpen feet ↓
The module has its own drum supports. Secure it to the bench for the first test, or use the existing three-foot plate: 54m 50s · 11.40g. Keep the other feet for modules 2 and 3.
Slicer estimates exclude AMS installation, spool loading, plate changes, support removal, assembly, electrical setup, calibration and reprints. They are not a completion promise.
Use the sample to check the materials
The new AMS candidates use a 0.4mm P2S nozzle and 0.20mm layers. The body stays 0.6mm thick: white fills the face recesses without adding a raised layer. Black starts at 255°C, white at 250°C, and both request an 80°C textured PEI bed. These are qualification settings, not a calibrated profile for an unseen spool.
The exact white PETG+ listing has conflicting nozzle ranges (210–250°C and 230–260°C); 250°C lies in both, and 80°C is in its 80–100°C bed range. Check the actual black and white spool labels before printing. Dry/condition each material according to its own label. The earlier paint-fill projects and their 5h 19m estimate are a separate process.
First powered test
The Westmont WROOM controller and one Hall sensor are enough for the first character once the power connections, protection and mechanical assembly are complete. Use the WROOM bench wiring, initially one active module and one moving motor. Your existing 5V supply’s rating, connector, polarity and protection still need checking; the cart is not evidence that the power harness is complete.
